Spring Break Chess Camp 2012

For students in grades 2 - 8 who are comfortable with the rules of chess
Churchill Road Elementary School The U.S. Chess Center offers a Spring Break Chess Camp this year at Churchill Road Elementary School in McLean, Virginia. This is our eighteenth year of running a camp during spring break. We will again combine chess with other fun activities, such as swimming. The camp is for students who are comfortable with the rules of chess. The students are divided by chess ability when playing chess and by age for other activities. The camp anticipates having some students who are not experienced players and others who are very strong. With a student:teacher ratio of about 10:1 we will divide the camp as appropriate for chess playing and lessons. The camp runs from Monday to Thursday. We also offer an aftercare problem-solving enrichment program in language, math, and lateral thinking from 3:00 - 5:00. Only $200 for the camp, and $50 for the aftercare.
