The Metro Area Chess League
Meeting Saturday, October 2, 1:00 p.m.
The U.S. Chess Center has administered the high school league since we opened in 1992. With only eight schools
registering for the league last year, we will have to decide whether there is sufficient interest to keep the league
running this year.
The meeting on October 2 will decide the format of the league and determine whether there will be a league.
Will the league play its matches at the U.S. Chess Center on Sundays or at schools on weekday afternoons?
How many students will represent a school in a match?
Will the league be divided into geographic divisions?
How many matches per year will each school play?
Will there be play-offs and, if so, what will be their format?
These questions, and possibly others, will be determined at the October 2 meeting. High school students,
teachers, coaches and parents all are welcome at the meeting.
Free underground parking is available in the U.S. Chess Center's building so long as the cars arrive by 1:00 p.m.
