US Chess Center
Teaching Children to Think

The U.S. Chess Center teaches chess to children, especially those in the inner city, as a means of improving their academic and social skills. In our fifteen years we have taught tens of thousands of children the rules, strategy and etiquette of the game. We teach more than 2,000 kids in our weekly classes and expose thousands of others to chess through our exhibitions and outreach programs.

We also run tournaments for children and adults, offer classes for all ages and levels of players and from 1993 until 2001 displayed the U.S. Chess Hall of Fame.
