  • Registration form for our scholastic tournaments

We suggest that before you enter your first tournament, you and your parents review our primer.

Players must bring their own equipment to tournaments. The U.S. Chess Center does not provide equipment for its tournaments. Please bring boards, sets and clocks, if you have them. The Center sells standard chess boards and sets (retail price: $19.51 incl. tax) and has a selection of clocks. Please also bring a pencil, as you must keep score (write down the moves of the game) and we do not loan them.

Some tournaments are rated by the U.S. Chess Federation, and all players in those must become members of the Federation. USCF membership may be purchased at any time at the U.S. Chess Center. Look on the individual web page for each tournament to see if a tournament is USCF-rated. For more information about the USCF, please visit their web page.
