The Open section finished in a 4-way tie at 6 points. GMs Jaan Ehlvest and Sergei Kudrin were joined by IM Fabiano Caruana and Kazim Gulamali. Caruana racked up a 2634 performance rating while playing all four Grandmasters, winning one and drawing the others . In the final round, Ehlvest defeated GM Alex Stripunsky and Caurana defeated FM Ralph Zimmer while Ivanov and Kudrin were playing a hard fought draw. Gulamali scored 4-0 in the accelerated G/30 section and started the second half of the tournament in clear first. |
